Scenic Auto Tour Roaring Fork | Where is a scenic tour in the Smokies?

Once you have rented your Smoky Mountain Jeep Rental you are going to want to find some awesome scenic drives.  There are hundreds of miles of roads to enjoy – we thought we would share these two awesome drives…. Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is found at the end of Historic Nature Trail Road in Gatlinburg, stoplight #8. The narrow, winding, Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail invites you to slow down and enjoy the forest and historic buildings of the area. The 5.5-mile-long, one-way, loop road is a favorite side trip for many people who frequently visit the Smokies. It offers rushing mountain streams, glimpses of old-growth forest, and a number of well-preserved log cabins, grist mills, and other historic buildings. Please note that the road is closed in winter. With the big parties done for this part of the season, we enter the second phase of Winterfest in the Smokies which is a major 180-degree shift in feel and atmosphere – now we get to the “quiet” season of the Smokies for a while to enjoy the dignity, romance and peace of the Smokies. But don’t think the quiet season of the Smokies means there’s nothing going on – in fact, in a nice kind of balance between the two very different halves of the season, this is the part of the year where we can more reliably count on one of the best […]

Top 5 Places To See The Autumn Colors

While the Autumn color has only been crawling to the Smokies this season, the change is under way and the slow speed only adds more time and opportunities to see it for 2019. Here are our five places that we recommend for Autumn color sights.   The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel Proudly beaming along the skyline of Pigeon Forge from The Island, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is one of the most convenient and luxurious ways to see the Smoky Mountain colors. It is an absolutely giant ferris wheel that will take admission fees and offer photographs after the experience – in between that, you will go about 200 feet in the air and circle around several times where the mountains surrounding the city will be greatly visible. The car is completely enclosed and has air conditioning or heating depending on the weather outside. Few other sky-high vistas in the […]
